Having recently relocated to the Dartmouth area of Nova Scotia, I am now able to offer a full range of keyboard and saxophone tuition. As you browse my site you will find out all about me and my innovative teaching methods for piano, organ, and saxophone.
Having been a piano student from the age of 6, I was well trained in classical piano fundamentals and techniques to LTCL level, which gave me a solid foundation in music theory, application, and pedagogy.
However, you will discover that I am not a 'traditional' music teacher in the purest sense of the word.
Though I do believe in building upon the foundations laid down by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, and the Royal Conservatory, I also believe in encouraging students to enjoy their practice time, and to engage their creative abilities to the fullest.

Learning music theory and harmony should not be a chore - it must be fun and also allow the student to develop his own language on whichever instrument he chooses to learn - of course, basic techniques are fundamental to any music course - but my own personal technique allows the student to diversify into popular music, swing, jazz, rock etc. The notes are the same for all - the creative process will make itself known in due course.
